Role Summary

Renew Home is hiring a Senior Analyst, VPP Performance, to support our Operations Team. This is a critical hybrid role that bridges the gap between deep technical performance analysis and high-level business strategy. You will help build the analytical infrastructure for our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) fleet—telling the story of our end-to-end program performance—while also flexing into broader business performance roles to support executive reporting and company-wide OKRs.

We are looking for a problem solver who can translate complex technical information from Engineering into clear, actionable business insights for Operations, Sales, and Leadership. You'll work across teams to scope requirements, establish processes, and design performance monitoring tooling that will allow us to scale our VPP portfolio while ensuring operational excellence.

Renew Home has ambitious growth targets in the VPP space. We are looking to dramatically change the industry and we need ambitious and motivated talent who are passionate about climate change and learning how to scale a business. If that sounds like you, please apply!

What You Will Do

VPP Performance & Infrastructure

  • Own VPP performance infrastructure: Build and maintain the systems for capacity tracking, forecast-to-actuals analysis, and asset performance scorecards across our VPP Product Portfolio.
  • Manage operational delivery: Own reporting systems that monitor operational delivery and support continuous improvement. Enable the systems that keep us on track to deliver according to contractual obligations and client expectations.
  • Build dashboards and frameworks: Design and maintain dashboards to monitor VPP reliability, client contract performance, and financial outcomes, acting as the "business intelligence layer" for VPP operations. Document operational processes and best practices to support scaling.
  • Drive strategic decisions: Provide data-driven recommendations for contract bidding strategies and market expansion decisions.
  • Build growth and enrollment models: Create forecasting frameworks to support strategic planning and business development decisions.
  • Support business development: Partner with Sales Engineering and Partnerships to provide performance data and operational insights that inform technical scoping, validate feasibility, and support accurate proposal development.

Business Performance & Strategy

  • Translate technical to business: Work across technical and business teams to translate performance data into clear business insights and narratives for non-technical stakeholders, turning operational knowledge into repeatable, documented processes.
  • Executive reporting: Build frameworks to monitor performance against company OKRs and create high-precision visuals for executive leadership and board meetings.
  • Support broader operations: The Operations team provides ad hoc support across the company as we together strive to hit ambitious growth targets and build amazing products and partnerships. We all have an important role to play to enable our collective continuous improvement.
  • Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, strategy, or operations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and modern BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Periscope, Looker) is required. You must be able to construct dashboards and recognize what "good" data visualization looks like.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling business strategies and narratives. Experience creating slide decks for senior executives with a focus on precision and attention to detail is highly valued.
  • Systems Thinking: A proven track record of building repeatable systems and documented processes that scale.
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills and track record working across cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability: Intellectual curiosity, self-motivation, resourcefulness, and an eagerness to take responsibility for continuous improvement of processes and results. You must be comfortable managing large data sets and navigating cross-functional complexity. You are able to thrive in a fast paced, fully remote environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional strategic problem-solving and analytical skills with a proven ability to independently diagnose, scope, and resolve complex technical, product, and business challenges.
  • Drive: A drive to get things done in a collaborative environment and ability to challenge traditional ways of thinking.
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience in the energy industry or VPP sector is a plus, but not required.
    • An interest in learning about the electricity system and how Renew Home plays an important role in its future. This industry is evolving quickly and you'll be learning what a flexible electricity system is along with us.
    • Experience working in an agile, product-led context
    • Excitement for a fast-paced, high-autonomy, fun environment

What You'll Get
