The Role

As an AI Software Developer Student at Solink, you will work closely with our AI Team and development teams to build and manage Solink’s AI and MLOps Systems that use machine vision, vLLM and LLM technologies. This Co-Op term provides hands-on experience in supporting the design, development, and maintenance of model inference code, model deployment CI/CD, and model training capabilities, while offering valuable insights into real-world software development and quality assurance in an agile environment.

What You’ll Do

  • You will develop, execute, and maintain custom Python packages to organize reusable tools used in MLOps, model evaluation and inference, and model packaging.

  • You will develop MLOps automations that run on Kubernetes using Kubeflow and Flyte.

  • You will develop and execute unit tests for those packages and processes as they are built.

  • You are supporting continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices for AI/ML systems using MLOps best practices.

  • You are documenting API’s, Python packages and other CI?CD processes as they are built.

  • You will participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability, efficiency, and maintainability of code.

What You Bring

Must-Have:

  • You are currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, seeking a co-op opportunity.

  • You have experience or coursework in automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).

  • You have basic knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).

  • You demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a passion for quality.

  • You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

  • You demonstrate a sense of ownership and are committed to supporting projects.

  • You have familiarity with Git and version control best practices.

  • You have familiarity with the Linux environment.

  • You have a foundational understanding of how AWS services support SaaS applications for IoT environments.

  • You have familiarity with performance testing tools and methodologies to ensure the robustness and scalability of applications.

  • You have an excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.

  • You have analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective solutions.

  • You have a passion for technical challenges, a drive for success, and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

Nice-to-Have:

  • You have an understanding of AI/ML system development and software development lifecycles.

  • You are familiar with machine learning and data manipulation frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, NumPy, and Pandas.

  • Experience using machine vision, vLLM and LLM models and systems (CNN Object detection, transformers, etc.).

  • You have familiarity with Kubernetes and ML orchestration tools (Kubeflow, Airflow, Flyte, etc.).

  • You have familiarity with Pytest as an automation framework.

Security Requirements

  • Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire;

  • Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included), or eligible to work in Canada;

  • Be willing to comply with Solink’s own security policies and standards.
