Are you passionate about helping Native entrepreneurs access patient capital, scale their businesses, and create transformational change in their communities?
Raven is excited to announce we will be hiring an individual to join our venture team as an Investment Analyst / Investment Associate. The individual will work directly with the Raven team, existing portfolio companies, and lead origination and due diligence of new investment opportunities in the United States.
ABOUT RAVEN
Raven is the first venture fund investing exclusively in Native and Indigenous businesses. We are currently investing out of our second fund (US$80M) and focus on seed-stage companies across sectors. We are a team of twelve with offices across the United States and Canada.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to our U.S. General Partner, this role’s primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Building strategic partnerships with Native American / Alaska Native / Native Hawaiian entrepreneurs
- Identifying investment opportunities that fit the investment thesis / criteria of the Fund
- Conducting financial, operational, and impact due diligence
- Generating and presenting investment memoranda to Raven’s Investment Committee and internal team
- Working directly with entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and community benefit streams
- Supporting investor relations and reporting
- Participating in relevant conferences and events, such as Raven’s annual Founder Retreats, biannual Impact Feasts and more
KEY ATTRIBUTES WE ARE SEEKING
- Ability to build relationships and maintain trust
- Entrepreneurial and constantly curious mindset; highly motivated self-starter
- Interest in developing innovative financial tools that reflect, and express, Indigenous values to achieve systemic change
- Passion for working in a mission and values-driven context
- Preference for an educational background in STEM, economics or business
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 – 5 years’ work experience in a relevant field (finance, venture capital, investments, banking, management consulting, business operations, entrepreneurship)
- Experience analyzing early-stage technology and technology-enabled companies across both quantitative and qualitative vectors
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
OFFER AND BENEFITS
This role is a permanent full-time employment position based remotely, though office space is available at our office in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Depending on seniority, this role offers a base salary of US$85k-125k, a comprehensive health and wellness benefits package, access to office space and eligibility for profit-sharing and performance-based awards.
