Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology & Cloud Infrastructure, we’re looking for a highly experienced Senior IT Specialist to lead our service desk operations and act as the go-to expert for end-user support across the organization. This is a senior-level, on-site role for someone who has built their career in IT support and is passionate about delivering exceptional technical service.
In this role, you'll provide hands-on support for Miovision systems and employees across the business by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues with hardware, software, computers, and applications within our Kitchener, Ontario headquarters. As the owner of the IT service desk, you’ll work directly with employees, providing troubleshooting and task-based solutions, ensuring uptime and efficiency throughout the business. You'll also be the primary contact for new hire setups, including workstation configuration and account provisioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for IT support across on-site and remote employees
- Lead onboarding and off-boarding processes, including workstation setup and account provisioning
- Support and troubleshoot issues across Windows, MacOS, and Linux operating systems
- Provision and maintain servers and manage enterprise-distributed applications (e.g. antivirus, access control)
- Procure and manage IT assets including workstations, peripherals, and server components
- Coordinate, troubleshoot and resolve audio/visual issues for major events
- Create and maintain technical documentation for a diverse user base
- Provide after-hours on-call support as needed
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in desktop infrastructure and system administration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networking, and operating systems
- Hands-on experience with Windows, MacOS, and Linux environments.
- Experience with directory services like Active Directory and Okta (user, group, and policy management).
- Excellent communication skills, with a customer service mindset
- Strong time management, task prioritization, and problem solving abilities
- Proven technical writing skills for documentation and internal knowledge sharing
- Must be able to work on-site at the Kitchener office during regular business hours

- Experience with Okta or equivalent identity management tools
- Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
- Experience with security system administration
- Advanced knowledge of identity systems and workflows
