We’re looking for a Staff/Senior Backend Software Engineer (Golang) to join our engineering team. In this role, you’ll build reliable services, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and contribute across the full software development lifecycle. You’ll work with Go and modern backend practices, including automated testing, containerization, cloud infrastructure, and data stores. Experience with event-driven systems is a plus.
What you’ll be doing
- Design, build, test, and maintain backend services using Golang.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs and working software.
- Contribute to the full SDLC: discovery, design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support.
- Write clean, maintainable code with strong automated test coverage (e.g., Go test).
- Improve reliability, scalability, performance, and observability through pragmatic engineering and operational practices.
- Work with data stores and messaging systems such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka (or equivalents).
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and documentation to strengthen shared patterns and engineering standards.
- Help reduce technical debt through refactoring and continuous improvement.
What you bring to the team
- Experience building backend systems with Golang (or strong proficiency in another backend language and willingness to ramp up in Go).
- Comfort with automated testing and debugging in production-oriented systems.
- Familiarity with containerization and delivery workflows (e.g., Docker, CI/CD).
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and operating services in distributed environments.
- Understanding of API design and backend architecture (RESTful and/or event-driven patterns).
- Experience with relational and/or key-value data stores (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis) and messaging/queueing systems (e.g., Kafka, SQS or equivalents).
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Nice to have
- ClickHouse
- Kafka stream processing libraries (e.g., Sarama, Goka) or similar tooling
- Temporal and/or Cassandra
- Experience with event-driven architectures at scale

Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
