Client Success Engineer (Entry Level)
KODE Labs
Customer Service
Detroit, MI, USA
Posted on Dec 4, 2025
Job Description
We’re building the operating system for the built world. At KODE Labs, speed, curiosity and hustle matter more than titles. If you’re the kind of person who gets obsessed with solving problems, wants real responsibility from day one, and learns fast — you’ll thrive here.
We’re also motivated by impact: the work you do helps buildings run cleaner and smarter, creating lasting, measurable sustainability improvements across cities.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on client-facing role that blends technical troubleshooting, training, and product-level thinking. You’ll onboard new buildings into KODE OS, teach users how to get big wins from the product, and work side-by-side with engineers to turn client needs into features. No one here babysits processes — you’ll own outcomes.
You’ll help clients reduce energy use, improve operations, and scale solutions that contribute to more resilient, sustainable urban systems.
What you’ll do (day-to-day)
- Run onboarding and training sessions: build agendas, demo KODE OS, and coach users until they’re confident.
- Configure and verify customer sites in KODE OS — map points, check data, and validate outcomes.
- Be the client’s first line: troubleshoot issues, dig into data, and partner with engineering for fixes.
- Build simple dashboards, reports, and playbooks that help clients measure value.
- Collect product feedback, escalate recurring problems, and help prioritize product improvements.
- Drive client adoption: schedule check-ins, run adoption campaigns, and measure success (usage, savings, NPS).
- Document what you learn — write how-tos and improve our knowledge base.
Requirements
Who We Want
- You’re hungry to learn technical systems and you can explain them clearly.
- Strong communicator — comfortable presenting to groups or one-on-one.
- Problem solver — you break complex issues into steps and follow through.
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and data (basic SQL or scripting is a plus but not required).
- Team player who can juggle multiple clients and priorities in a fast environment.
- STEM background, internships, open-source projects or hands-on tinkering strongly welcomed.
- Interest in urban systems, sustainability, or energy-efficiency is a big plus.
- Ability to travel occasionally (onsite visits) preferred. Criminal background check required.
Why this is great for students / early career folks
- Full mentorship: formal onboarding and peer coaching from engineers and senior CS teammates.
- Rapid learning curve — own real projects and gain measurable impact quickly, including sustainability outcomes you can point to.
- Clear growth path into Senior CS, Deployments, or Product roles.
Benefits
Competitive salary, healthcare, flexible PTO, learning budget, social events, and a team obsessed with delivering measurable results.
