This role
The Head of Enterprise Data leads Employment Hero’s global data function and delivers the data strategy that powers our AI-first future. You are accountable for building modern, reliable data foundations that unlock commercial value, improve operating efficiency, and accelerate decision-making across the business.
You set the direction, drive execution at pace, and ensure our data models, platforms, governance, and architecture directly support our growth goals. You will play a central leadership role and set the direction for a global team responsible for data engineering, data platforms, data governance, and enterprise data architecture.
This will include the below deliverables
- Ensure the business has access to trustworthy, high-quality data on demand - a stable, trusted and well-governed data environment, with consistent practices for quality, access, and stewardship, in the fastest possible timeframe.
- Enable the business to make faster, more confident decisions as an organisation - a coherent enterprise data architecture, guiding how data is designed, integrated, and used across systems and products, resulting in near-realtime insights and the ability to surface leading indicators.
- Build the necessary foundations for AI querying of our data - creating data foundations and models that effectively support AI and automation, and natural language querying, with safe and appropriate access patterns.
Responsibilities
Enterprise data strategy and leadership
- Deliver a clear, actionable data strategy that supports revenue growth, scalability, and automation.
- Establish standards for how EH designs, manages, and uses data; remove ambiguity and drive consistency.
- Provide senior leadership on data-driven decision-making and the enterprise data posture.
- Champion stewardship and ownership so every team knows their data responsibilities.
Global data platform ownership
- Own the performance, reliability, and evolution of our Snowflake-centric data platform.
- Ensure ingestion, modelling, governance, and quality processes are simple, scalable, and fast.
- Guarantee availability, observability, and readiness for AI and automation workloads.
- Set patterns that enable teams to ship data solutions quickly without compromising trust.
Data Architecture
- Define and maintain an enterprise architecture that supports both operational and analytical needs.
- Partner with Engineering and Product to shape upstream data design that enables future AI use and minimises rework.
- Ensure data models are reusable, trusted, and well-documented, reducing time to insight and integration complexity.
Data governance, quality and compliance
- Implement governance that is lightweight, scalable, and value-driven — not bureaucratic.
- Lift data quality and consistency across all regions and teams.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory frameworks while enabling speed and accessibility.
- Embed practical stewardship so teams can confidently own their data.
Data for AI, ML and agentic workflows
- Make Employment Hero’s data AI-ready through quality, accessibility, and sound design.
- Define how data powers agentic workflows, automation, and future ML capabilities.
- Oversee infrastructure and governance that allow responsible and high-velocity AI usage.
- Guide data requirements for training, inference, and orchestration.
Cross-functional leadership
- Build strong partnerships with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, RevOps, Finance, and CX.
- Translate data concepts into practical actions that solve real business problems.
- Increase adoption and trust in data through simplicity, transparency, and responsiveness.
Who you are
To thrive at Employment Hero, you’ll need to embody The EH Way - operating with focus, agility, and an obsession with impact. For this role, you’ll also bring
- 8+ years in modern data leadership across platforms, architecture, governance, or analytics engineering.
- Proven ability to deliver data strategies in fast-moving, high-growth environments.
- Expertise in cloud-native stacks like Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, Airflow.
- Deep understanding of data governance, modelling, metadata, and domain-driven design.
- Experience enabling AI/ML teams with high-quality data and strong access patterns.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead global teams with clarity and pace.
