This role

We are seeking talented and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platform. You will lead initiatives to design, implement, and maintain robust infrastructure and systems, driving continuous improvement and innovation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimise our technology stack, minimise downtime, and enhance the overall user experience.

This will include

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of highly available and scalable infrastructure and services.
  • Develop and implement best practices for monitoring, alerting, and incident response to ensure system reliability and availability.
  • Automate deployment, configuration, and management processes to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning to proactively address scalability challenges and optimise resource utilisation.
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to ensure that applications are designed for reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the evaluation and adoption of new technologies, tools, and methodologies.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents as needed, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on users.

Who you are

  • Experienced in a similar role, with a proven track record of designing and maintaining highly reliable and scalable systems.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog and Sentry.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Ruby, TypeScript, Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • You are passionate about learning and sharing your knowledge, and not afraid to challenge your peers, but also welcome being challenged.
  • English language abilities, both written and verbal - you’ll be working with people across the world, including from Australia.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • You have experience in mentoring team mates, or even leading an Engineering squad.
